Town 'N Country's 50th Anniversary Celebration
| Local Stories - Around TnC |
After a year of planning the Picnic has come and gone. But what a picnic it was. From my vantage points I witnessed couples dancing, families sharing a picnic meal, young people (the future of Town N Country) playing games, fancy faces, crazy balloon animals, real animals from Lowry Park Zoo, TNC History information overload, and cotton candy.

It was a wonderful day had by all. The 50th Anniversary Party at Jackson Springs Park was a good old fashion picnic. Sack race, three legged race, and a tug of war were played in the field games area. Music by N-Kahootz entertained the crowd and kept the place jumping. Leto High School Culinary Department provided the man power to feed the masses.
After 14 months of planning and meetings it is final Party Day for the Town N Country 50 Going Gold. See you at Jackson Springs Park at 11:00. Thank you to all of the Volunteers for your efforts producing this Bash.
By Nicole Hutcheson, Times Staff Writer Fifty years ago the first home was built in a largely rural pocket, then called Town 'N Country Park. • Developers pegged it as a place with a small-town feel and easy access to downtown Tampa and Clearwater Beach. There was one pharmacy and one restaurant for early residents. • Today, there is a plethora of both in Town 'N Country, the area that stretches roughly from Sheldon Road east to the Veterans Expressway, and from Tampa Bay north to Linebaugh Avenue. The "small town" has become one of the most culturally diverse areas in the county. • Yet for many in the community, it's not hard to remember the old days. For them, certain locations that most would gloss over bring back memories of what used to be. Thank you Nicole for this article. View entire article at www.tampabay.com
